Tourmaline with Cleavelandite

A superb, bi-color tourmaline grouping with cleavelandite from Paprok, Nuristan, Afghanistan! This specimen consists of five or more beautiful pink tourmaline crystals that have formed in a parallel growth habit, creating one larger, complex crystal. A cluster of smaller tourmaline and cleavelandite adorns the side of the main tourmaline group, which is doubly-terminated. One terminal end shows pink, flat basal terminations, while the other shows a complex, pyramidal form and is a vibrant grass-green. The specimen is completely free of damage and weighs 41 grams.
